Today, Everpurse announced it is returning to Kickstarter to launch a new version of the company’s original smartphone charging clutch. In 2012, Everpurse successfully funded a Kickstarter to produce a wirelessly charging leather purse capable of keeping your smartphone charged all day. While over doubling their original funding goals, the original Everpurse saw several shipping and design delays and was met with mixed reviews.
The 2015 version of the Everpurse aims to correct those issues with a larger purse, improved charging plate, interchangeable phone docks, and longer battery life. It will feature either a 48 or 96 hour battery, a purse that is 10% larger, and a charging mat that displays charge status and works internationally. This time, the company has already spent a year finalizing design and solving engineering issues. It is turning to Kickstarter to start manufacturing and expects to be able to deliver the purses long before the 2014 holidays. Head past the break for a video about the new purse.

Everpurse has announced the successor to it’s original phone charging clutch. The new Mini does away with one of the gee-wiz features of the original Kickstarter-backed bag, a cordless charging mat. Instead, the new hard sided clutch’s latch doubles as a USB plug, requiring you to plug the purse/case directly into a USB charger. While the charging mechanism seems like a solid step backwards, the reduced price and built-in wallet will likely bring in a new audience. Through May 6 it is available for preorder at a $31 discount and is only available for the iPhone 5/5s. It is scheduled to ship during summer of 2014, just a few short months before being outdated as the iPhone is rumored to shift to a larger size.
